Zusatztext

Not much happens here. A mole gives up spring-cleaning. A dragon refuses to fight. Children explore gardens, secrets, and grown-up nonsense. And that's exactly the charm. In The Classic Collection of Kenneth Grahame, the smallest moments matter: a picnic basket, a dusty lane, a long afternoon with nowhere in particular to go. These are tales where animals talk, time meanders, and adventure might mean simply getting lost ¿ on purpose. This volume brings together four of Grahame's most loved works: The Wind in the Willows, The Reluctant Dragon, The Golden Age, and Dream Days. Each one offers a quiet kind of magic ¿ the kind best enjoyed with feet up, mind open, and perhaps a cup of tea not far off. No battles, no villains, no hurry. Just the deep, gentle pleasures of a good story well told. Contents: ¿ The Wind in the Willows ¿ The Reluctant Dragon ¿ The Golden Age ¿ Dream Days

Autorenportrait

Kenneth Grahame (March 8, 1859 ¿ July 6, 1932) was a Scottish-born writer whose timeless stories have enchanted readers for generations. Best known for his beloved classic The Wind in the Willows, Grahame combined vivid imagination with gentle wit and a deep love of nature. Born in Edinburgh, he spent much of his youth in the English countryside, an experience that would later shape the idyllic settings of his fiction. Although he spent his professional life working at the Bank of England¿eventually rising to the post of Secretary¿Grahame's heart was always in storytelling. His tales often evoke a nostalgic vision of childhood, friendship, and the English landscape, infused with charm, mischief, and wisdom. In addition to The Wind in the Willows (1908), Grahame also wrote The Reluctant Dragon (1898), a witty tale of an unlikely friendship between a boy and a gentle dragon, as well as two earlier collections: The Golden Age (1895) and Dream Days (1898), which capture the wonders and confusions of youth with elegance and insight. Kenneth Grahame passed away in Pangbourne, Berkshire, but his legacy lives on in the quiet adventures of Mole, Rat, Toad, and Badger¿and in every reader who still dreams by the riverbank.
