On a battlefield, young Mercutio meets poet Dante Alighieri. In a desperate clash they open a rift to Faerie, changing the stars and binding a mysterious presence to Mercutio. As exiles, they join the Montecchi near Verona, finding family among fighters. With loyalty and courage, Mercutio sets out to defy fate and save a changeling on whom the human world depends.
