MARIE MULVEY-ROBERTS is Reader in Literary Studies at the English Department of the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. She is the editor of the journal <EM>Women's Writing</EM> and author of <EM>Gothic Immortals: The Fiction of the Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross</EM> (1990). She has co-edited <EM>Secret Texts: The Literature of Secret Societies</EM> (1995) and <EM>Gothic Fiction, Rare Printed Works from the Sadleir-Black Collection</EM> (2002-3). Recently she has edited <EM>Writing for their Lives: Death Row USA </EM>(2007) and <EM>The Collected Letters of Rosina Bulwer Lytton</EM> (2008).
