Travelling home from a European holiday, Iris Carr ends up alone at the station after a quarrel with her friends. She is struck by a mysterious assailant, waking up later in the waiting room where nobody can tell her what happened, before boarding the train and meeting the affable Miss Froy and a handful of curious fellow passengers. When Iris passes out and reawakens, Miss Froy is nowhere to be found, and the other passengers deny any knowledge of her existence... <b>Adapted for film as 'The Lady Vanishes' by Alfred Hitchcock.</b>
