MIKE JONES is Course Director for the MA Music Industry Studies, at the Industry of Popular Music, University of Liverpool, UK, and was previously Course Director for the first and only MBA in Music Industries. His publications are concerned with aspects of the industrialisation of popular music, including <EM>Learning to Crawl: The Rise of Music Business Education</EM> (2000), <EM>The Music Industry as a Workplace</EM> (2003), <EM>Words on Music: Songwriting as Work</EM> (2003), <EM>From Conception to Consumption: The Missing Managerial Link</EM>(2008) and <EM>The UK Music Economy </EM>(2010). He remains a songwriter after enjoying success in the 1980s and 1990s with the band Latin Quarter.
