David Albahari was born in Serbia and emigrated to Canada in 1994. He is the author of eleven novels and nine collections of short stories. His previous novel,<i>Götz and Meyer</i>, was published in English and won the ALTA Translation Award. A story of his was recently selected for<i>Best European Fiction 2010</i>, edited by Aleksandar Hemon.
