Her family's glamorous department store, Highton's on Fifth, has just been renovated, but plans for the fabulous re-opening party are going curiously wrong. Jacqueline Harvey spent a number of years teaching in girls' boarding schools, meeting many young students who inspired her characters, until becoming a full-time writer. She is the author of the<i>Alice-Miranda</i>and<i>Clementine Rose</i>series, and has won several awards for her work. She lives in Australia.
