Bruce Robinson started his career in cinema as an actor. Some of the worlds greatest directors ignored him so he got into writing and finally directing film himself. Perhaps best known for<i>Withnail&I</i>he's currently preparing a new film based on his novel,<i>The Peculiar Memories of Thomas Penman</i>. For a dozen years he's been working on a history of the Whitechapel Murders which he hopes to publish in 2013 to coincide with the centenary of 'Jack the Ripper's' death...
