All she could do while German bombs were falling on London was listen to the evacuees stories and daydream of a more interesting existence.The only source of excitement in her quiet country existence was Helen, a friend who was a little brasher and more audacious. She was envious of Helen and wished to be more like her. Ruths late grandmother was more like Helen than Ruth was, and she had always pushed Ruth to be a little more spirited.Will Ruth follow her parents when the battle becomes a bit too close for comfort and they want to move even further south, or will she summon some of her grandmothers energy and join Helen on her more daring offer?
