Joanna O'Donoghue has had a long career in education, beginning as an English teacher. She has extensively travelled and documented her journeys in journals. After being diagnosed with Crohn's Disease in her mid-twenties, she began blogging for a charity to fund research. This experience inspired her book Gutsy Travels: Travelling the World With My Invisible Friend. Last year, she published Lockdown Stories: Reflections on the Pandemic from around the world.
