Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank U. Rückert studied process and environmental engineering at BTU Cottbus (Germany) from 1993 to 1999. He was a research scientist at University of Stuttgart in the field of computational fluid dynamics, combustion and turbulence-chemical interaction and received his PhD with a thesis on reactions in particle fields. In industry he worked for more than 12 years at Robert Bosch GmbH as a simulation engineer and developer of steam turbines and diesel engines. His special interest lies in the field of simulation and modeling. In 2015, he started his full professorship in fluid energy machines at the Saarbrücken University of Applied Sciences. He teaches in the fields of power plant engineering, thermodynamics, but also battery systems engineering and statics. He is interested in all kinds of new teaching methods. Currently he is working on a new research project to develop a virtual 3D laboratory for students. Prof. Rückert and Prof.Sauer published a German preliminar version of the book.
