<p>This book enables readers to gain a deep understanding of the challenges related to the design of a charge pump (CP). Analysis, modeling, design strategies and topologies are treated in detail. Novel and high-performance CP topologies and related design are organized in a coherent manner, with particular care devoted to ultra-low power and energy harvesting applications. The authors provide basic theoretical foundations as needed, in order to set the stage for readers comprehension of analyses and results. Exhaustive methodologies are presented and analytical derivations are included, enabling readers to gain insight on the main dependencies among the relevant circuit parameters.</p>Although the material is presented in a formal and theoretical manner, emphasis is on the design perspective, using many practical examples and measured results.<p></p>

<p><b>Andrea Ballo </b>joined the University of Catania in 2017 where is now an assistant professor of electronics. His primary research interests are in analog and mixed-signal circuits and in electronic systems for energy harvesting or power transferring in IoT applications. In 2023 he gained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for the position of Associate Professor. Prof. Ballo is an Associate Editor at the Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers. He is author of more than 50 publications on international journals and conference proceedings.</p> <p><b>Alfio Dario Grasso</b> joined the University of Catania in 2003 where is now an associate professor of electronics. His primary research interests are in analog and mixed-signal circuits and in electronic systems for IoT applications. In 2017 and 2023 he gained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for the position of Full Professor. Prof. Grasso is an Associate Editor at the <i>IET Electronics Letters</i>, at the <i>Wiley International Journal of Circuits Theory and Applications</i> and is a member of the editorial board of <i>MDPI Sensors</i>. Prof. Grasso is a member of the board of the Ph.D. in Ingegneria dei Sistemi, Energetica, Informatica e delle Telecomunicazioni at the University of Catania and of the National Ph. D. in Micro- and Nano-Electronics at the Universty of Pavia. He is author of more than 130 publications on international journals and conference proceedings.</p> <p><b>Gaetano Palumbo</b> in 1994 joined the University of Catania, where since 2000 is a full professor. His primary research interests are in analog and digital circuits.He was co-author of five books and a textbook on electronic devices. He is the author of about 460 scientific papers on referred international journals (220+) and in conferences. Moreover, he has co-authored some patents. He served as an Associated Editor of the <i>IEEE Trans. on CAS part I</i> in 1999-2001, 2004-2005 and 2008-2011, and of the<i>IEEE Trans. on CAS part II</i> in 2006-2007.He is the Editor in Chief of the open access journal <i>Chips</i> and he is also serving as Associated editor of the open journal Electronics. In the period 2011-2013 he served as a member of the Board of Governors of the IEEE CAS Society. In 2003 he received the Darlington Award and since 2007 he is an IEEE Fellow.</p>
