Together with her team, she develops research and extension projects aimed at the valorization of agro-industrial residues and the reuse of forest residues through the manufacture of value-added products, in addition to the expansion and application of knowledge and technology to biomass under the action of heat. All of their work aims to reach and engage with the entire community and communicate science clearly to all sectors of society. In this way, their research aims to inform decision-making that helps mitigate the impacts of climate change and achieve a global circular economy.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; text-align: justify; line-height: 105%;"><strong><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 105%; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Ananias Francisco Dias Júnior </span></strong><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 11.0pt; line-height: 105%; font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">currently works at the Forest Sciences and Wood Department, Federal University of Espírito Santo, Brazil. He leads the Bioenergy and Forest-Based Bioproducts research group, which focuses on developing knowledge and technologies for biomass treatment and application under thermal processes. His work aims to create economically viable and environmentally sustainable products and processes while addressing social considerations and balancing the diverse uses of biomass with human needs. Together with his team, he explores innovative pyrolysis-based processes and heat treatments to enhance the value of wood and charcoal as energy sources. Additionally, his research extends to the valorization of agro-industrial waste as raw material for various applications, contributing to sustainability and climate change mitigation.</span></p>
