Zusatztext

This book covers work in the broad area of the scientific interests of Rainer Picards research work marking Rainers 80th birthday. Thus, it contains numerous articles provided by his friends and colleagues from the areas of partial differential equations both time-dependent and time-independent from operator theory including topics such as monotonicity and particular operator theoretic applications to questions arising in partial differential equations or numerics, and from mathematical physics detailing the impact of functional analysis to the most recent models describing physical processes in nature.

Autorenportrait

Sascha Trostorff studied mathematics with a minor in computer science at TU Dresden, Germany, graduating in 2008. He received his PhD in 2011, providing a general solution concept for evolutionary inclusions, a generalization of nonlinear partial differential equations. In 2018, he completed his habilitation thesis at TU Dresden, connecting semigroup methods and evolutionary equations and advancing the understanding of exponential stability for a large class of evolutionary equations. Since 2019, he has been working as a lecturer at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel, Germany. Sascha has also co-authored two books.   Marcus Waurick graduated in mathematics with a minor in physics from TU Dresden in 2009. He completed his PhD in 2011 on homogenization theory while working at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and later that year joined the Institute for Analysis at TU Dresden. In 2015, he took up a research post at the University of Bath, and in 2016 completed his habilitation thesis. In 2017, he became a Chancellors Fellow at the University of Strathclyde. In 2020, he joined TU Hamburg as a research associate and in November of that year became a deputy professor at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. In April 2021, he was appointed full professor at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, holding the chair of Partial Differential Equations. Marcus has also co-authored three books and edited one book.
