Zusatztext
This book is a descriptive grammar of Warrwa, a Nyulnyulan (non-Pama-Nyungan) language of the Kimberley region of north-western Australia. The description is based on the authors fieldwork with the last two speakers of the language, Maudie Lennard and Freddy Marker, between the mid-1980s and early 2000s. It covers the phonetics and phonology, morphology and syntax of the language, and is augmented by a wordlist and extensive text collection. The phonetics/phonology and morphology are presented in the standard segmental and item-arrangement frameworks. The syntactic description employs a functional/usage-based approach that focuses on the identification of constructions and their meanings.
