Emmeline Pankhurst believes that all people should have the same rights. A world in which men have so much power and women so little is unacceptable. She realises that things will not change on their own and sets out to fight for women's right to vote. The "suffragettes" quickly become famous and, contrary to expectations, their goals become realistic, although the government's resistance remains strong. However, the fight for the right to vote result in consequences for Emmeline, including her health and her relationship with two of her daughters. For Emmeline, it is a race against time. Will she be able to experience the change she has dedicated her life to.
