Detlef Häußer examines the relationship between Jesus and Paul, focusing on Christology. His work explores the theological and tradition-historical relationship between Paul, the early Christian tradition of confession and the tradition handed down from Jesus. The pre-Pauline Christology was especially able to establish a connection to what Jesus taught about himself. It is likely that Paul first became familiar with important traditions in Damascus and Jerusalem and not in Antiochia. In addition to the Damascus event, early church traditions formed part of a strong basis for Pauline Christology. Thus, in Christology there is a remarkable theological agreement as well as a continuity in the history of tradition from Paul to the Apostles before him, and even to Jesus himself.
