Zusatztext

In these fourteen studies, Andreas Lindemann discusses the relationship between early Christianity and Israel, deals with concrete aspects of New Testament ethics and explores the history of interpretation and theology from the early church up to the Reformation and to present time. He examines the complicated relationship between emerging Christianity and Israel and deals with issues of the practice of ethics in early Christianity, issues which are still of significance today, such as for example the ethical problem of the value of the beginning of life in relation to the termination of a pregnancy. In addition he studies the New Testament tradition history of the story of the rich young man and its interpretation by Clement of Alexandria as well as aspects of the history of New Testament studies in the 19th and 20th century. Most of these studies are the result of inquiries which came directly from church bodies and which required a reaction by a scholarly exegetical-theological article as an answer.
