Zusatztext
What happens when human (and sometimes all-too-human) behaviour and legal matters encounter each other on the comic stage? The contributors of this volume deal with this question in seven case studies (four of which came into being in the course of a seminar on the topic "Human beings and law in Greek and Roman Comedy", which was held by the two editors of the volume at the University of Göttingen in the summer term of 2011). These studies want to present insights into how human relationships and legal circumstances come together to produce "dramatic" plots, which even today have lost nothing of their interest.
