The new edition has been extensively revised and expanded. It contains numerous new features, such as the distinction between media law and related areas, journalistic protection zones, the protection of press products, and current issues in commercial law. The section on the limits of reporting is now structured according to the interests to be protected, rather than the traditional separation between image and language reporting. Digital services such as social networks and search engines are also considered in selected contexts, particularly in the chapters on journalistic diversity and public opinion formation, financing, and media liability. The presentation remains concise without sacrificing key developments and references to legal history, comparative law, EU law, and interdisciplinary topics.
