Zusatztext

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a major food crop for the people of the world in general and Asians in particular; nearly 90% of the world's rice is produced and consumed in this region. Rice are the most common grain crops of India which belongs to the family Gramineae contributing to 30 per cent of the total cultivated area of the country. Rice is a staple food for nearly 2.4 billion people in Asia and some parts of India and China. Rice is self-sufficient in food grain production due to intensive cropping, with high doses of chemical fertiliser to tap the potential of high yielding crop varieties in irrigated condition under a constant plant protection umbrella. Application of organo-inorganic combination is very effective in realisation of high yield and high responses to added nutrients. Incorporation of farm waste as biological as well as practice of green manuring in cereals is viable options, which improves the productivity and partially substitutes the fertiliser nitrogen requirement of the subsequent crop. Organic manures provide regulate supply of N by releasing it slowly resulting in increased yield of rice and nutrient use efficiency.
