This book pertains to the challenges that Orthodox Christians face in the twenty-first century in regards to living in a secular and religiously plural world. The author writes about such challenges as secularism, pluralism, freedom and responsibility, human rights, and religious freedom. Additionally, he examines environmental rights, women's rights, and the rights of LGBT's from an Orthodox Christian Trinitarian social ethic. What emerges is a balanced treatment of these challenges as the Orthodox witness to the world its unique ethos deriving from the love inherent in the Holy Trinity.

Fr. Daniel Payne is the priest at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Bayard, Nebraska. He received his Ph.D. in Religion, Politics, and Society from Baylor University. He writes on the intersection of religion and politics and social ethics. His other book is The Revival of Political Hesychasm in Contemporary Orthodox Thought.
