Zusatztext
During Machining at high cutting speed, the tool wear get accelerated which adversely affects the machining performance, reduction in production rate, accuracy of work and productivity. In present work, tool wear and surface roughness during machining of EN-24 alloy steel have been evaluated in dry, flood and minimum quantity lubrication using single Nozzle and double nozzle. The results of tool wear and surface roughness in all cases have been compared. It had been found that tool wear is rapid in dry machining as compared to flood and minimum quantity lubrication. On the other hand, minimum quantity lubrication using single nozzle reduced the tool wear and surface roughness as compared to flood lubrication. Also, minimum quantity lubrication using double nozzle, reduced tool wear and surface roughness more effectively than the flood lubrication and minimum quantity lubrication using single nozzle. Enhancement of machining performance in in case of minimum quantity lubrication using double nozzle have been reported due to better cooling and lubrication at flank phase of tool as well as at tool chip interface.
