'Forced Disappearance in the Jurisprudence of International Human Rights Courts' Nina Schniederjahn compares the rapidly growing jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights on forced disappearance. A main issue is the distribution of the burden of proof. In addition, the contribution of the courts to the processing, prosecution and prevention of forced disappearances is examined, in particular by the example of Peru.

Nina Schniederjahn studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main. Von 2010 bis 2012 war sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Lehrstuhl für Völkerrecht der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg tätig, anschließend zwei Jahre am Lehrstuhl für Völkerrecht der Universität Potsdam. Ein Forschungsaufenthalt führte sie nach Peru. Das Referendariat absolvierte sie am Kammergericht in Berlin und verbrachte ihre Wahlstation an der Deutschen Botschaft in Buenos Aires. Seit 2016 ist sie Richterin in Braunschweig.
