'EU State Aids Law for Local Authorities' The EU State Aids Law embeds a fundamental prohibition of national financial benefits in support of private companies. Thus, all measures with a financial impact must be checked for compliance with these provisions. The present volume displays the relevance of the EU State Aids Law for local authorities by means of current case studies relevant to these. Within the individual chapters, the pertinent problems are analysed and potential solutions for an arrangement in compliance with the EU State Aids Law are illustrated.

Wolfgang Weiss holds the Chair in Public Law, Public International and European Law at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and organizes the annual Speyer Conferences on EU State Aid Law. His main research interest focus on European and International Economic Law and on the Constitutional and Administrative Law of the European Union and the relevant rules of German State Law.
