Intersemiotic translation as one kind of translation plays a key role in the field of Translation Studies according to the requirements of todays world. This book is an analytical, qualitative, and corpus-based work which is written, primarily for the very broad area of the field of Translation Studies. Understanding the area of the Semiotics and the way of the analysis, is one of the requirements that researchers in the fields of Translation, Semiotics, and Cinema have to learn. The process in this book and such books in the field of Semiotics can be very beneficent for the experts of Cinema and Translation. So, we felt the need to work on the intersemiotic translation of the classical novel of 'Grapes of Wrath' into the movie of 'Grapes of Wrath' in classical cinema based on the stratificational semiotics of Sojoodi. The semiotics of Sojoodi is one of the most applicant models for the analysis of the linguistic, non-linguistic, general and technical aspect of the media. We hope that the students of cinema and translation enjoy the process of the analysis which can be a start point for them to learn research for the vast area of Semiotics and consequently, Translation Studies.

Ali Najafi is the M.A. holder of Translation Studies of IAU, Central Tehran Branch. Dr. Kourosh Akef is an assistant professor at IAU, Central Tehran Branch, responsible for teaching M.A. courses. His research interests include Translation Studies, TESL / TEFL, and Linguistics.
