The aim of this monograph research was to analysis the bridge deck panels made using Reinforced Fiber Glass Polymers. Considering future structures, the composite materials of the fiber glass are very promising. It is possible to create bridge spans consisting of steel main beams and GFRP decks (according to example of ASSET system). Identification of the type of fiber glass, polymer matrix or adhesive types with steel or concrete is a very interesting topic. According to the authors investigation parallel identification of GFRP panel: DTA analysis, spectroscopy analysis, scanning and optical microscope monitoring have been presented with the stress basic research - flexural strength of GFRP deck panels. The use of fiber composites has great potential in bridge building. These bridge constructions have a longer durability, are anticorrosion, have a light weight deck and have imposing stress parameters; all are good alternative for traditional structures.

The author studied civil engineering at Gdansk University of Technology. In 2005, she achieved gradual dr. sc. techn., at Opole University of Technology. From 2000, she has been Teaching and Research Assistant at Faculty of Civil Engineering, from 2005 to present, Associate Professor (PhD level) of Road and Bridge Department at Opole University.
