World is continuously facing the threat of increasing population and malnutrition. It is of urgent need to develop some innovative methods for mitigating the increasing food insecurity and malnutrition problem. Scientists throughout the world are busy in developing the most efficient and innovative methods in inducing the desirable variability in plants in overcoming these problems. The book describes the innovative approach of inducing variability in Hordeum vulgare L. The book simply describes the practical approaches of inducing desirable variations in Hordeum vulgare L. through chemical mutagenesis. Hordeum vulgare L., an important cereal contains an appreciable amount of starch with considerable amount of proteins. So, the variability in this plant may prove more beneficial in overcoming the world malnutrition and hunger problem.
