The indigenous pigs are scavengers, medium to large size, somewhat semi-wild in their behaviour and possess good mothering ability. The productive and reproductive traits of these animals have convinced the piggery farmers to take up piggery as a source of income generation. The native types still represent a valuable component of genetic resources. The book has described about the phenotypic, morphometric and reproductive parameters of indigenous pigs of Nagaland, India. The book will be very useful to the pig rearers, pig breeder, pig research scientist and scholars to conserve the indigenous pigs and improvement the pork production industry.
