Rural households food security is better understood from the perspective of livelihood diversification. Livelihood diversification is a point of departure for any policy interventions targeting to tackle food insecurity problems especially for rural households. The success of rural development policies and food security interventions is determined by the knowledge we have about the linkage between livelihood diversification and food security. Therefore, livelihood diversification perspective is password to food insecurity problems.

Bogale Gebeyehu Gemede was born in 1984 at Guji Zone, Oromia Region, Ethiopia. He has MSc degree in Rural Development from Haramaya University and currently he is senior lecturer and researcher at Wolaita Sodo University.
