The standard reference provides a comprehensive overview of vocational schools in Germany. The volume describes the history of vocational training schools from their foundation to date and categorises this type of schooling within the German educational system. The multi-faceted structures, functions and tasks of vocational schools are presented in a sophisticated manner. A particular focus lies on the external and internal organisation of the vocational schools, from their legal foundations and the administration of schools to teacher conferences. The standard reference was published in its 2nd edition in 2014.
