In 2011 students and teachers from 7 European countries met in Feldkirchen at the school of social work of the University of applied Sciences to learn about the Slovene minority in Carinthia and its specific problems. The title of the EU funded program was Dierent language - same culture; same language - dierent culture? 2012 there was a follow up in Belfast, dealing with the troubles and its enormous impact on the Northern Irish society. Students and teachers were not only observers of long lasting European conflicts but also took part in the everyday life of the involved people. The most working groups are put together in this book.

Raphael Schmid, Mag. (fh), born in 1984 in Carinthia, Austria studied social work at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, where he also worked as a scientific assistent. He developed and led a music project in the field of youth work with youth cultures and helped to build up a drop-in center for youngsters in Klagenfurt. Currently he is a part time lecturer in social work, works in the field of detached youth work and conducts a youth research in a rural part of Carinthia. Hubert Höllmüller, Mag., Ph. D., studied philosophy at the Karl Franzens University Graz, worked in the field of youthwork, streetwork and drug aid. Since 2007 professor of social work at CUAS, Carinthian University of applied sciences. International coordinator of the school of social work. Research projects in the field of youth work, streetwork, public youth welfare, international social work and philosophy of science.
