Since Joe Hisaishi in 2005 had the opportunity to score such films of neighboring countries as Welcome to Dongmakol (Korea), A Chinese Tall Story (Hong Kong) and The Post-Modern Life of My Aunt (China) he became more conscious of Japan as part of Asia, evident in this album which expresses the glamour of this continent. The piano scores are arranged to bring out the melodies for the songs so many people could enjoy playing these fine tunes.
