For the 13-year-old Pavel and his younger sister Gul, life changes in a moment: Grandma dies, Mum abandons them and they are sent to an orphanage. Pavel is convinced: as long as they have their house they aren't orphans. Fighting for the things he values, he has to grow up in an instant, to take responsibility for his sister and to become courageous. It is said that we never know the value of water till the well is dry. This poignant novel teaches us not to take our family and friends, their love and care, for granted. It is a great happiness when someone waits for you at home.
