Alveolar osteitis (AO) is the most common postoperative complication after tooth extraction. The pathophysiology, etiology, prevention and treatment of the alveolar osteitis are very essential in oral surgery. The aim of this book is to provide a better basis for clinical management of the condition. In addition, the need for identification and elimination of the risk factors as well as preventive and symptomatic management of the condition are discussed.
