Human find symmetrical face more attractive than are asymmetrical faces. Perfectly bilateral face and body symmetry is largely a theoretical concept that seldom exists in living organisms. Right-left differences occur everywhere in nature where two bilateral congruent parts present in an entity.The smile is one of the most important facial expressions and is essential in expressing friendliness, agreement, and appreciation. A smile when pleasing and attractive to observers enriches not only the one who smiles, but those who view it. This book highlights the methods to assess facial symmetry, smile and facial aesthetics in different facial growth patterns and correlates them with underlying hard tissue structure. Thus it evaluates facial symmetry and smile in relation to attractiveness in different facial growth patterns.

Dr Sayef Bakari is Assistant Professor at the University of Gafsa (Tunisia). He obtained his PhD degree in Economics Sciences from the University of Tunis El Manar, (Tunisia). Dr Bakari has several years of teaching and research experience and published a good number of journal and conference papers.
