The present project was undertaken in order to give a comprehensive overview of the diverse studies done so far on the effect of various pollutants on physicochemical properties of water. Every effort has been made to avoid superfluity and wherever possible clear explanation has been provided. It is believed that the information in this book will benefit the students pursuing research in environmental chemistry.

Dr Sajad Ahmad Ganai doctrated from Aligarh Muslim University, India. He has also been conferred with Degree of Doctor of Letters ( D. Litt.) by University of South america, USA. He has a number of books and research publications to his credit, all in Journals of international repute.
