Zusatztext
The Present study investigated the wear and friction behavior of tin bronze impregnated with Al2O3, and h-BN/MoS2. The friction and wear properties of the materials were estimated by reciprocating friction monitor under dry conditions at room temperature in air. The mechanical properties of the composites decreased with increasing amount of added h-BN or MoS2. MoS2 was very effective in reducing the wear and friction of the composites. Particularly the 5% vol. MoS2 composite showed a low coefficient of friction than 5% vol. h-BN. By contrast, the wear rate of the MoS2 composites increased considerably with the amount of MoS2 addition. This behavior is thought to be due to the absence of MoS2 and the presence of brittle CuMo2S3 compounds in the sintered composites.
