Technology Enhanced Approach to Facilitate Writing at Tertiary Level

Most of the L2 learners do not possess good writing skills that are required at the university level. Existing approaches to teaching writing have not worked. A perfect blend of technology and pedagogy in writing classrooms will facilitate better writing skills. This book focusses on developing the writing skills of the students using a combination of process approach and multimedia tools. Even though there has been a growing body of research in the area of the Process approach to writing, none of the studies has so far integrated multimedia tools at every stage of the Process approach to writing. The study proposes a new approach to teaching writing-The Multimedia Supported Process Approach (MSPA) which integrates multimedia technologies during the various stages of the Process approach.

Dr. Vijayakumar is an Assistant Professor in English at B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology, India. He holds a masters in English and in Applied Linguistics. His doctoral thesis is on Integration of Educational Technologies for Teaching L2 Writing. His research interests include blended and online instruction.
