Zusatztext
'What is hidden, is preserved.' This book delves into the courses and effects of different types of alienation as posited in selected works by the Kenyan writer Yusuf Dawood. As most actions start from within, Freudian Psychoanalysis is used in trying to unravel these, further opening the dialogue on how to deal with them. Is alienation always negative? Is literature abating or abetting alienation? Can literature be used to mitigate these effects and if so how? The meticulous approach on the issues as used by the author can be applicable to many other texts and discourses. It is my hope that you will find the text useful and informative in addressing the role of the unconscious in the socialization and ultimate adaptability of individuals into the ever changing society.
