Zusatztext
Irish Free State authorities harassed and then murdered Honor Bright in Ireland in 1925. She was maligned as a prostitute, and her Garda assassin acquitted. Deceitful rumours were spread to conceal the victims real identity and the reason for her death. False evidence, perjury and the forceful suppression of potential witnesses at a sham trial led to huge public demonstrations, but newspapers printed only authorised stories or faced consequences from the Garda and the Minister of Justice. The lives of Senator William Butler Yeats, his wife George Yeats, Minister of Justice Kevin OHiggins, Chief Superintendent David Neligan, Honor Bright or Lily ONeill and Kevin ONeill have never before been juxtaposed, so new facts have come to light. A photograph of W. B. Yeats revealed a strong personal resemblance with my father. A dense cloud of obscurity surrounded my grandmother. My father possessed a brief newspaper article about her murder, the bullet that had killed her and Garda photographs. Every attempt to uncover this case with the Garda has been denied despite the passage of ninety years.
