Cervical cancer is the 4th most commonly diagnosed cancer in women worldwide. It is the second most common cancer among Indian females. This book emphases on the expression of CD34 antigen in the stroma of premalignant and malignant lesions of cervix. The book aims to determine whether loss of CD34 is specific for invasive disease in the cervix, and also evaluate the prognostic significance of CD34 expression in the cervical cancer wherever possible. Moreover, the role of CD34 as a marker of angiogenesis in cervical cancer has also been studied. Additionally, a brief review of literature, clinical correlation and methodology used have also been provided. The microphotographs of cervical lesions were selected from our daily diagnostic material. This book is intended for all pathologists, to aid them in their routine diagnostic work.
Autorenportrait
Dr. Mohsin Aijaz is a pathologist with MBBS and MD in pathology from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College of Aligarh Muslim University in Aligarh, India. Besides histopathology, he has keen interest in cytology and hematology. He is presently working as senior resident in the same college and teaching pathology to both MBBS and BDS students.
