It is very important to use different natural microorganisms as an alternative means for the treatment of most chronic diseases like diabetes. Algae contain useful substances including pigments ( carotene, astaxanthin, zeaxanthin, lutein, canthaxanthin, chlorophyll, phycoerythrin, fucoxanthin and phycocyanin), polyunsaturated fatty acids (docosahexaenoic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid and arachidonic acid), antioxidants (catalases, polyphenols, superoxide, dismutase and tocopherols), essential amino acids (leucine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, phenylalanine, asparagine and glycine) and antimicrobials.
